Class Divide

This painting came about during a backdrop of tense and troubling political events worldwide where a starker divide emerged between the different socioeconomic classes. This work is a nod to a social hierarchy of medieval Europe. There are areas of overcrowding representing living conditions of the lower socioeconomic classes along with areas with more space denoting the middle classes and the areas with even more “land” abstracted at the very top representing the top of the feudal system of barons and lords who dominated the system with their wealth.
