Digital Blues

Transparent gesso was applied to canvas and sanded down to prepare it to receive the acrylic inks in ombré blues. Quadrilateral repeating shapes are stacked along with vertical contrasting repetitive lines. The artist produced this thought-provoking yet simple piece to explore the theme of lines – a one-dimensional figure which has length but no width and can be extended infinitely in opposite directions- mathematicians may recall the 7 types of lines in geometry, lines hold significance for those in the field of technical drawing, engineers, graphic designers and more. This contemporary piece holds different significance depending on who the viewer is.
