Inspired in part by a tourist attraction of the same name in Newquay, England and in part by the mountainous backdrop of the beautiful Emerald Isles of Ireland. Traditionally, the poppy has been a symbol of Remembrance and hope post World War 1 but is also seen as a symbol of sleep for the opium derived from it and death for its blood red colour, captured in this painting. In addition, a deep frame has been used to continue the painting onto the edges giving it a more three-dimensional appearance.
– Framed Size : (40 x 40 cms)
– Acrylics on canvas.
