This piece of art was inspired by a sensational Irish pop group The Corrs who wrote the song “Queen of Hollywood” after the songwriter watched a documentary about women who dreamed about living glamorous lives becoming embroiled in drugs and prostitution. The shades of light blue represent the flashing of camera lights and the artist chose the colour green to reflect the adage “grass is always greener on the other side”. There are deliberate dark tones woven into the painting giving the viewer a hint of the dark side of certain industries that are known to exploit women reminiscent of the #metoo movement.
– Framed size: (29.7 x 42 cms)
– Acrylics, mixed media on canvas
